Does Islam support "Democracy"? |

I've heard from a renowned Islamic scholar that - Islam doesn't support democracy but Islam has its own democracy which is closer to so Western Europian "Democracy" but not 100% same.
So what is the reality? Does Islam support "Democracy"? |
