Salamun Alaykum,

Can someone explain this hadith? Is it "authentic"?

Abu Burda said that his father said the messenger of God said; On the Last Day, some Muslims will come with sins as high as the mountains, but God will forgive them for these sins and transfer these sins to the Jews and the Christians. Sahih Muslim, Book 37, Number 6666.

This hadith contradicts the Qur'an:

"That no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear anothers burden;" - 53:38.

"God does not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: in his favour shall be whatever good he does, and against him whatever evil he does. O our Sustainer! Take us not to task if we forget or unwittingly do wrong! "O our Sustainer! Lay not upon us a burden such as Thou didst lay upon those who lived before us! O our Sustainer! Make us not bear burdens which we have no strength to bear! "And efface Thou our sins, and grant us forgiveness, and bestow Thy mercy upon us! Thou art our Lord Supreme: succour us, then, against people who deny the truth!" - 2:286.

If you are ingrate behold, God has no need of you; none the less, He does not approve of ingratitude in His servants: whereas, if you show gratitude, He approves it in you. And no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear anothers burden. In time, unto your Sustainer you all must return, and then He will make you [truly] understand all that you were doing [in life]: for, verily, He has full knowledge of what is in the hearts [of men]. - 39:7.

In the Qur'an it states that we bear our own burden.
Our good deeds and sins are our own.

Thanks for any replies! Smile
