Naming your baby as per the Islamic norms are a very important way to convey your religious beliefs. Choosing the right Islamic baby name is a matter of great concern as you cannot randomly choose names. The name which you chose for your baby is going to be identifying your baby throughout the life. Many beliefs that what they're in the name but this option does not hold good as your baby name reflects their sense of belongingness to a particular religion.
It is mentioned in one of Hadis (Hadith Abu Dawud) that Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said that one the day of Resurrection, people will be called by their name and their mother's name. The Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) ordained to give noble names to their children. He often asks people to change their name if he found that the meaning of their name are somehow unpleasant or insignificant. So always name your child as per the Islamic norms which demands that the name of the child should be Nobel and of good and valuable meaning. Moreover, veteran clerics say that the name of the person has a direct effect on their characteristics. So always choose a good meaning name so that you feel proud to call their name among your relatives, school or in public. Here are some all time favorite Islamic baby names that also have significant meaning.
Aadil�- Means Justice and righteousness. It is quite common, but still preferable as this has significant meaning
Aamir- This means a well civilized person who is also highly respected.
Aameen- Highly faithful and trustworthy.
Aziza- This means very precious thing. This name is specially used for baby girl.
Atif- This means holds that the person is very kind and affectionate.
Avid- Abaid stands for an ardent worshipper of god and god knows
Sami- Sami means servant of the Almighty Allah.
Abdul Ghani- This means Servant of the Self-Sufficient
Abdul Kareem- This means servant of the most generous
Abul fazl-
          Endowed with bounty, grace.


Abyaz- Thing which shines brightly, brilliant
Azzam- Well determined and resolved. This is popular Muslim boy's name.
Autism-   person who preserves him or her from the worldly sins.
Aejaz- A person who performs miracles
Auragzeb- Ornament of the thrones. In other words means very precious
Benazir- A unique which is quintessential of its own genre.
Bashaar- A person who brings waves of gladness
Daniyal - A highly intelligent and conscious person
Dean- A religious person
Emran- A Progressive and high achieving person

Amman- A highly faithful person
Fadil � Honorable and outstanding person
Faisal- Strong and handsome person
Farooq- A person who is differentiated truth from falsehood.

Fuzail- An accomplished person who is successful in all aspects of life
Fadila- This mean good looking and highly attractive
Fadyaa- A person who sacrifices for the good of others
Farhana- This name stands for Happiness and joy
Faria- Beautiful, loving and king
Safiyy- A well chosen one
Sahmeer- An entertaining companion who is also faithful
Sahil- Guide, this name signifies the person who shows only rightnesses to others.

Clerics like Muftis are well acquainted with the Islamic names which also have honorable meaning. How about Amir? Is it islamic? I see many English speakers using it: namewizard.net/f/amir
Atif is good, but I like Amir more.
