Hey guys, i have a problem......

I haven fallen in love with a canadian girl, I started off the relationship with this girl on a bad note with my parents. Then i tried to correct my mistakes, i feel like no matter what i do they will never accept her although she has done nothing wrong to anyone. I feel helpless, can someone please help me make sense of this or what i could do to maybe shed some light on my problem. I have to fight with them everyday to stay with her but they are not willing to look at the kindness.

Obediance is only to Allah, and towards the parents betterment(wa li alwaalidayni ihsaanan). Betterment can also come through you doing something which they oppose and that action may bring a broader understanding in your parents later on. If you have faith in Allah and seek betterment of yourself in His sight and betterment in the world around you, then do whatever you think brings this about. Sometimes people are stuck in their culture and traditions and this is usually a source of friction in the new societies they live in, sometimes you need to break loose from the control of the parents for the greater good. No matter what you decide, be thankful to Allah and may your actions be a blessing to you and your parents.

Remember, Allah made us into different tribes and people so that we may come to know eachother.

big mo- I am an American and my husband is Pakistani. His family was upset at first but when he told them that I am a very nice person and we are getting married no matter what they accepted it. You have to be an adult about it and allways be the peacemaker. Let your family know that they must treat her with respect and let her know that she needs to love and respect your family. Maybe she will convert like I did, only for herself not for you. But even if she doesn't, I have a few friends who are Muslim and the wife is not and they are very happily married. Peace
You cant be a good muslim if you are not decent and have a cold heart. Be a decent and kind person and care for women and children and the elderly.
