Over Praying

   Asalaamu Alaykkum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

I was wondering if there was any such thing as over praying? I ask this because i notice that some people pray 10,12 ,14 rakah's before a prayer.

As far as i am aware the Prophet (SalAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) prayed two rakah before Fajr, four before Zuhr and two after, two after Maghrib and two after Isha making it twelve sunnah prayers. Also I inderstand that one can pray nafawil prayers after Zuhr, Maghrib and Isha if they wish.

Am I wrong?
