Hi lucasan2294,
Theodicy in Islam and Christianity is the same. Surat Al-'Ikhlāş (The Sincerity) - سورة الإخلاص بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 112:1 Say, "He is Allah , [who is] One, 112:2 Allah , the Eternal Refuge. 112:3 He neither begets nor is born, 112:4 Nor is there to Him any equivalent." 3Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: Exodus 20 King James Version (KJV) Exodus 20 1) Why does evil exist? Well the answer would be Satan. He was banished from heaven and he was expelled. 2) Where did it come from and why does it persist today? The arrogance of Satan and the arrogance of the human is the same.Until we cannot loose that arrogance and hastiness,we loose the battle. 3) Will there ever be an end to it? Yes. I would like to put some really well researched articles on this topic.I hope this will help. http://www.islamicboard.com/clarifications-about-islam/134292836-philosophical-theological-response-problem-evil.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO-kVfe0mO8 |

I am curious what the religion of Islam says about evil.
1) Why does evil exist? 2) Where did it come from and why does it persist today? 3) Will there ever be an end to it? |
