Whenever Muhammed is mentioned. In Arabic it follows up with an "Allah
salla aley wa salam." Basically translates to Allah prayed to him (Muhammed)
and brought him peace. God prays TO Muhammed? God brought him peace?
Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Bismilah Rahmani Rahiim

Peace and blessings,

No it is the other way around, Mohammed (salalahu aleyhi wa salaam) Allah's blessings and mercy be upon Him.

Remember Allah and the Angels Praise Mohammed Aleyhi Salaatu Wa Salaam.

We are told to send prayers for Mohamed Aleyhi Salaam so we may got 10 or more prayers (good deeds) written down for us.

It is only for our own good that we send prayers to Mohammed salalahu aleyhi wa salaam.

A. Suleiman

Hi, you are exactly right when you say "shouldn't it be other way around"

It is other way areound. We Muslims, when mentioning the name of any of God's prophets (Noah, Moses, David , Jesus or Mohammed) we do add: "May God's peace and blessings be upon him" .

regards,

Hasan

The friends of God will certainly have nothing to fear, nor will they be grieved. Al Quran 10:62

Anatolian,

Muslims don't "praise Muhammad" in the sense of exaltation, it is more of like a salutation. Muslims give the same salutation to all prophets.
