The BBC website is reporting an in body insulin pump that acts as a smart artificial pancreas.
Phizer developed an inhalable insulin but it was pulled from the market as it was deemed as to expensive. A philanthropist spent $300 million developing inhalable insulin (he probably could have bought the phizer patent for less) People should not have to deal with the inhumanity of constantly sticking needles in there arms. The American government also capped a price on insulin @ $35 after killing many people whom couldn't afford insulin (involuntary manslaughter?) Why are people still sticking needles in themselves?. Why not reserect the phizer patent and reindroduce inhalable insulin back into the market?? The R&D has been done- it just requires a bit of love and compassion Sticking needles in your veins is arguably leach medicine. I vote you roll out inhalable insulin @ the global level to improve the quality of lives of diabetics ESPECIALLY THE YOUNGSTERS Small mercies and a quality of life. Thanks |
