    أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَابٌ فِيهِ تَدْرُسُونَ (68:37)

    Am lakum kitabun feehi tadrusoona

  • Or have you, perchance, a [special] divine writ which you study, - 68:37 (Asad) -   


  •

    إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهِ لَمََا تَخَيَّرُونَ (68:38)

    Inna lakum feehi lama takhayyaroona

  • and in which you find all that you may wish to find? - 68:38 (Asad) -

    أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَانٌ عَلَيْنَا بَالِغَةٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُونَ (68:39)

    Am lakum aymanun AAalayna balighatun ila yawmi alqiyamati inna lakum lama tahkumoona

  • Or have you received a solemn promise, binding on Us till Resurrection Day, that yours will assuredly be whatever you judge [to be your rightful due]? - 68:39 (Asad) -

    سَلْهُم أَيُّهُم بِذَلِكَ زَعِيمٌ (68:40)

    Salhum ayyuhum bithalika zaAAeemun

  • Ask them which of them is able to vouch for this! - 68:40 (Asad) -

    أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاء فَلْيَأْتُوا بِشُرَكَائِهِمْ إِن كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ (68:41)

    Am lahum shurakao falyatoo bishurakaihim in kanoo sadiqeena

    يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى السُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ (68:42)

    Yawma yukshafu AAan saqin wayudAAawna ila alssujoodi fala yastateeAAoona

    KhashiAAatan absaruhum tarhaquhum thillatun waqad kanoo yudAAawna ila alssujoodi wahum salimoona

    فَذَرْنِي وَمَن يُكَذِّبُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (68:44)

    Fatharnee waman yukaththibu bihatha alhadeethi sanastadrijuhum min haythu la yaAAlamoona

  • Hence, leave Me alone with such as give the lie to this tiding. We shall bring them low, step by step, without their perceiving how it has come about: - 68:44 (Asad) -

    وَأُمْلِي لَهُمْ إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِينٌ (68:45)

    Waomlee lahum inna kaydee mateenun

  • Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? - 68:47 (Asad) -

    فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ الْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَى وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ (68:48)

    Faisbir lihukmi rabbika wala takun kasahibi alhooti ith nada wahuwa makthoomun

    Al-Qalam (The Pen) - 68:49 
    لَوْلَا أَن تَدَارَكَهُ نِعْمَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ لَنُبِذَ بِالْعَرَاء وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌ (68:49)

    Basit -   Hussari -   Minshawi -  f

    Lawla an tadarakahu niAAmatun min rabbihi lanubitha bialAAarai wahuwa mathmoomun

  • [And remember:] had not grace from his Sustainer reached him, he would indeed have been cast forth upon that barren shore in a state of disgrace: - 68:49 (Asad) -

    فَاجْتَبَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَجَعَلَهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ (68:50)

    وَإِن يَكَادُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَارِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا الذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُ لَمَجْنُونٌ (68:51)

    Basit -   Hussari -   Minshawi -  f

    Wain yakadu allatheena kafaroo layuzliqoonaka biabsarihim lamma samiAAoo alththikra wayaqooloona innahu lamajnoonun

  • Hence, [be patient,] even though they who are bent on denying the truth would all but kill thee with their eyes whenever they hear this reminder, and [though] they say, "[As for Mubammad,] behold, most surely he is a madman!" - 68:51 (Asad) -

    وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَالَمِينَ (68:52)
