I am curious to know what Islam says about ghosts or supernatural phenomena because I recently have been experiencing unexplainable events in my home. Like just yesterday, my husband and his cousin were sitting in the living room while i was with my daughter and we all heard a plastic cup fall to the floor. It sounded so close like it was right next to us. When we looked, there was a plastic cup, but it was sitting atop our 4 foot refrigerator filled with liquid. So we opened the fridge to see if maybe the sound came from inside, but there was no cup. We just stood in shock looking at eachother wondering where the sound came from because the sound was clear to all of us. We looked all around us and could not explain what had caused the sound. It is definitely something I cannot deny anymore so I would like to know what Islam says about this. |

Bismillahirrahmanirraheem Assalaamualaikum THere are angels, there are humans and there are jinns. Angels were created with light, humans from clay/soil and jinns from fire. We cannot "see" angels and jinns. There are good jinns and bad jinns. Sometimes the bad ones do trouble humans, either because humans have "hurt" them or because humans come and start living in a place that was already "occupied" by jinns. If you are sure that there is "someone" doing something, its the jinn. Normally they live around us without us knowing. Allah knows best. Peace....

Very little. Thank Goodness. If your refrigerator has an auto defrost mechanism and is over 5 years old water may be condensing and freezing in the spaces that appear overtime between the inner lining of the freezer the insulation and the outer wall. this will make sudden transient noises that will sound like anything resembling: The sound of a loaf of bread sliding off the top of the fridge to the floor; Crackly ticking sounds like those from the Japanese film "The grudge"; The sound of a snub nose .32 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver circa 1943 going off in a bedroom upstairs. Or you could have a ghost. But if it is a ghost - Most likely your ghost is a Lutheran from Minnesota who answers to the name "Clarence" When you leave the house today be sure to wear a helmet. Fondly yours, Danny |

lol, very cute. But actually i've only had my fridge for about 7 months so it couldn't be that. And i'm sure i can tell the difference b/w a loaf of bread sliding off and hitting the floor and a plastic cup. I've had other experiences besides that one, by the way. That was pretty much the one that I couldn't blame on something else. I've actually felt something touch my arm a couple times but just ignored it so i wouldn't freak out. But i mean, there were 3 other people in the room and everyone heard it. But for some reason, we could never identify the source of the sound. Wouldn't you find that wierd? |

I'm sorry. There are so many things miraculous and weird in day to day
life. All these things fit within the confines of an acceptable reality. You are a part of that system. Inside the walls of your own house you should enjoy a predictable and safe environment. You can choose any explaination you want. Choices to some degree shape your take on reality and sometimes even the events that occur in it like having a positive attitude at breakfast and riding it like a happy wave through the rest of your day. You are like what 23-25 right? This is a transition period as well. Take possession of your home now. Go pray in your kitchen or that room central to you. I own a recording studio and it has a mind of it's own sometimes. Weird overtones, smells, and rattles. Yesterday I rewired a sound mixer an then lit incense in a glass urn that hangs above the drum booth where most of the trouble in any studio occurs. Ghosts are usually a metaphor for the past. Find out what you miss from the past and: bring in back in to your life; or say good bye to it; or just acknowledge it so that it doesn't start grabbing your arm or messing with you in a room that you used to define as a place of safety. Always examine your waking life as you would a dream. The things that you remember or even change after the fact reveal important truths. They are what happened what could have happened or what you fear or hope may happen. Then again a CAT scan might be in order Sorry I can't help it. If the sensation of being touched continues see a neurologist. Peace, Danny |
